León is a fabulous town in the State of Guanajuato in Mexico. I have always wanted to visit Guanajuato, which continues to be my favorite state in this beautiful country. The sights, the food and the people here are simply amazing. This time I decided to spend my holidays in León, a wonderful town in the Guanajuato state. Here’s an insight into my memorable trip, which at some point of time you too should consider visiting León.
It was during November last year that I booked cheap flights to León and planned a vacation in this incredible place. I was essentially on a backpacking trip to León, and being a solo traveler I was tight on budget. My real concern was how to get cheap accommodations here. Since I was traveling during the peak season, most of the hotel rooms were reserved. Even finding an Airbnb accommodation proved to be difficult, but I somehow managed it though.
There are many international airlines through which you can purchase León flight tickets. Some of the airlines through which you can choose to travel to this place include Volaris, Interjet, United Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM, Aeromexico and Delta Air Lines, just to name a few. I however found it convenient to get León flight deals for my travel on United Airlines.
After landing in León and taking a day’s rest I decided to explore the city on my own. There are some major attractions for you to see here. The area around the city center with nearby shops presents an awesome sight. It’s simply any architect’s dream. The important landmark for you explore is the Museo de Las Identidades Leonesas, which was formerly a jail. There is so much to see here and know about León’s rich history. The interactive sections are fun. After visiting the museum, my next stop was the beautiful cathedral located in the center of the town. It’s more beautiful inside than the outside.
You shouldn’t miss out visiting the “Bridge of Love” on the outskirts of León town. This is a favorite haunt for lovers coming together in large numbers and locking a padlock around the railing of the bridge. There are dates written on some padlocks, while others have the names of lovers on them. The padlocks are essentially meant to seal the love forever so that it can withstand the test of times.
I spent few days in León. It was simply fun staying in this fascinating town. I can say that this was one of my most memorable holidays in recent times. I suggest that you too should consider enjoying a vacation here.
